Author Topic: Soccer mom wants a PG-13 Deadpool movie for her child.  (Read 2936 times)

Fun fact: G rated films were (and might still be) restricted at some stage. They could only be shown at certain parts of the day.

This is why the original 1986 Transformer's film has Spike say the word "stuff" and Ultra Magnus say "damn" (not considered offensive anywhere except America back when the movie was out). The film got a PG rating, which meant it could be shown at all times of the day, and with more showings comes an increased chance of revenue.
i never knew this, i couldn't even remember that there was swearing in that movie lol

I'm an adult and I don't know what Deadpool is. I must just keep myself too cut out from mainstream media.
he's a randumb edgy character or some stuff. has a boner for spiderman and likes to scream "chimichangas"

Neither did I until I was reading about the film. Turns out they removed the swearing for a few versions including the TV edit and the VHS, and then brought it back for the Blu-Ray edition.

i blame disney for introducing it to kids

hell even my little cousin knows about it, and he's like

But how is that a problem? Disney takes a lot of things that are extremely not kid-friendly and polish them up to be palatable with a G/PG rating. They can't be held responsible when a parent fails to do their duty and research their kids interests.

how are people going to tell deadpool he looks like a nutsack if its pg-13?

Disney has a lot of subliminal images in their movies but that's another story.

I think you have more subliminal messages in your avatar.

Do you mean the rooster in the Little Mermaid poster, or are you bullstuffting about something else?

The only example of subliminal messages I can recall is the word "love" spelled out by stars in The Lion King.

wait what

wait what
Supposedly the stars in this scene spell out the word "love", although it does seem a little bit like a stretch.

What did Disney do? They're not allowed to use certain Marvel characters until the deal with FOX runs out.

the thing is, deadpool isn't remotely close to the things disney typically pretties up for kids
the whole point of deadpool is to be super adult and offensive, and new content for him is still being produced
the only thing i can think of that comes close to his level in terms of how 'adult' the originals were is, like, Grimm brothers' fairytales, which are old and rare to see nowadays unless you specifically search for those versions

I specifically remember my cousin watching spider-man cartoons on Disney XD or disney channel that had deadpool in them. Tried looking it up and only got the amazing spider man appearances(which are one possible source), but that wasn't it.

Disney had an R rated film known as Down and Out in Beverly Hills but they released the movie under the touchstone name not the disney name.

an unfunny disfigured douchebag with wolverine's healing factor who's so kooky and wacky and everyone loves him because he breaks the 4th wall or some nonsense

The most Mary Sue character I've ever seen from a comic strip

I don't even care for Deadpool but I don't like people trying to tone down R rated movies that don't need to be toned down.

People wanted the evil dead reboot to be rated PG-13 good thing it was rated R.
