Author Topic: some sound going through headphones, some going through speakers  (Read 521 times)

i just unplugged and replugged my headphones and now system sounds are going through the headphones and sounds from Chrome (videos, music, et cetera) are coming out of the speakers

???????

what the forget?
your computer is haunted by a ghost. it must be burned.

look at your playback devices.

then call an exorcist

just says the headphones are enabled

here, too

is it plugged in ALL the way

You could disable speakers in Sounds

You might click that drop-down menu under Devices on the volume mixer

is it plugged in ALL the way
yes suh

That shouldn't usually happen, but as a last resort you could go to Sounds and disable your speakers.

You might be able to find something useful if you right-click the sound icon on the start bar. (Open Volume Mixer might let you change where they are coming from)

(I'm assuming you're using Windows)
check my last post

i could disable my speakers but i can imagine myself getting confused next time i unplug my headphones and no sound is coming through

Maybe if you disable speakers, every application will start using the headphones, and then you can immediately enable speakers for next time.

Maybe you could close and reopen the applications that are using the speakers, and they will default to headphones.

huh
okay apparently it was just the pages i had opened before i unplugged the speakers; refreshing fixed the problem
i'm still a little confused as to why that happened, but my problem is solved. locking.
