I know little about DDOSing, and this is not much evidence to go off of (it's still happening at this moment), but this is definitely too weird to be events.
There was a healthy crowd at DeathBox's Fort Wars when all of a sudden the chat was spammed by connection notices by someone called "YOU MUST DIE". Despite the authenticity of the connection notices, "YOU MUST DIE" did not ever appear in the playerlist.

At first, we wrote it off as someone who was spamming chat through events. We moved to find the person, but after spying on everyone in the server several times, we couldn't find them.
Then, the server started lagging a lot. I cleared bots and vehicles to cut down on lag and as it turns out there were a forgetton of them.

Even though there was a lot of people there, that was way too many bots for the crowd we had, plus we had just cleared bots a minute ago. After that, people started leaving in troves, and it turns out most of us were kicked out of the server, not by DeathBox, but by something else (I don't have a picture of the dropped connection, sorry).
I rejoined and it turns out it wasn't events. It could talk and address us by name, but it still did not show up in the playerlist.

Before you go saying that this was still events, it was addressing us and answering our questions way too quickly for someone to event them in.
Does anyone have information they'd be willing to lend to determine what the forget this is? I may just be overreacting but this is somewhat creepy.
