20 years ago, on January 25, 1996, was the last time any prisoner was executed by hanging in the United States. It took place here in good ol' Smyrna, Delaware, meaning this is one of the only times this year that Delaware will be relevant again. Only the states of Washington and New Hampshire still permit the hanging method of execution as of 2015, but they have not used them in a while.

I think the only execution method that should be legal is injection.
