Do human beings have a right to access drinking water? (AKA is access to drinking water a right or a privilege?)

Yes, absolutely, human beings have a fundamental basic right to access drinking water, regardless of ability to pay.

No, water is a privilege that should be only accessible through paying corporations for it.

Author Topic: (PETITION) Nestlé Chairman says Humans don't have a right to drinking water  (Read 2437 times)

I honestly wonder what can be done about Nestle. It's one of those companies that owns half of everything in its field, is pretty much too big to fail, and can easily pay their way out of any legal trouble whenever they can't bribe the politicians off their backs

only literal solution is to kill them/start a revolution as corporations have too much power

now you could say "wowe that's extreme", but cutting off water as a public right is essentially killing millions to begin with.

nestle chairman shouldn't have the right to drinking water.

Food and water are both part of the most basic needs and requirements for human beings. I'm pretty sure denying people the right to have either of these is a direct violation of human rights.

Also you can't give ownership of a natural body of water or land formation to a specific human being or corporation. However, a government or collective may have limited ownership over such things.

Not too extreme at all, but the corporations could easily stomp it out with the government in their pockets

I didnt know Immortan Joe was the chairman of nestle

Read the topic, reminded me of an image I had saved

Boycotting doesn't sound that hard at first until you know how much they own. Unsure as to how accurate this image is since I picked it up a while ago though. Might've been around the time when I first heard about this months ago.

is this even a debate

this guy is genuinely 100% handicapped for saying this

You don't have a right to anything even life. However you have the privilege to live and one might be so privileged to remove that from you. Now, this ideology might seem extreme but it has helped me to live modestly.

With that being said, this guy is a fat cat collecting revenue on Wall St.

fixed that for you

fixed that for you
Now, when we start assuming we have rights to everything this becomes dangerous.

However, I respect your opinion. And I also do not think you believe people have the granted right to kill someone, rather they have free will.

so your saying people have the right to kill someone?

Edit: forget he changed it to "i do not belive people should have the rights to kill someone"

According to 99% of european and american philosophy, humans have the right to certain basic necessities and these rights are inalienable. If you wanna come in here and say "Humans don't have the right to anything" you're basically coming out and saying "I can kill anybody I want because humans don't even have the right to live".

The fact that you justify such terrible ideals by saying that people who adopt it are basically filthy rich is void. It's obvious that said petitions or forced changes to human rights will be completely denied by the government. Pretty soon this corporate fat cat will begin losing his funds thanks to such a risky move.

I doubt that your post was remotely serious, considering the intense level of stupidity and lack of thought. I also highly doubt you are living modestly, especially if you're following these ideals.

Don't even bring up your opinion bullstuff anymore. You don't have the right to express your opinions.
