Why are you using new backtrack instead of an everyd...

I dont see why you would be using Kali, Kali is used for entry testing, not every day use

forget off

I don't really recommend going with Kali as a first either, and I haven't even heard of it before today... If this is your first time using Linux, I'd go with either Ubuntu, Linux Mint (as others have suggested); Elementary, or maybe Manjaro.

forget off
The aggression isn't necessary...

#1: no, you'll cause a kernel panic and the system will freeze until you do a hard poweroff (holding down the power button for an x amount of seconds)
#2: yes
#3: 8gb is plenty
#4: kali's fine
I may be wrong, but from personal experience I don't think #1 is completely true. I've removed a live USB on multiple occasions and the system continues to work just fine.

I had this laptop and the hdd would fall out and I just couldn't open programs until I reconnected it.

Same, though the system is gonna cry a little with a few files missing, most likely. Eventually something will break hard enough for the entire thing to just fall apart and give up.

Exactly. IIRC all running processes are stored in RAM during use. The problems start when a process begins to try to access files that aren't there.

KK guy, i just got slitaz to run on my pc :D, now im gonna try kali, and if i have no idea what im doing, then ill get either linux mint, or ubuntu

why do you want to use kali so much in the first place?

the entire point of kali is entry testing. thats why it exists. if you're learning linux, why are you using this?

Even if you were using Kali Linux for Pen testing, I would go with BlackArch if you could figure out how to install it since it has alot more tools

You can go also with Icarus Desktop (http://aros.sourceforge.net/), i've tried out it and used some programs with it.
