Author Topic: What the hell is with the question "did you get a new haircut"?  (Read 2451 times)

-snip-
i know this feeling. someone in class once asked me if i was writing with marker when i had a big orange crayola marker in my hand

and i said no

Did somebody say...

HEARCUT??

People say it when they want to spark conversation. Of course they could just say 'Hey! You got a haircut!' but instead they chose a harmless question they already knew the answer to

I suppose asking "Did you get a new haircut" kind of invites them to tell you more about their haircut, rather than simply making the observation of "Hey, you got a haircut"...

Ahh, conversation.

Socially awkward me hates these questions and if you ask them I will hate you too

So do you just avoid small talk at all costs? That's not healthy.

I hear that most of the kids who do that these days, cope pretty well by shooting up their school (:

Why is everyone so anti-social now? Most people I know no longer care for being social.

I don't want to talk about it...

Its so easy to just talk about random stuff with people yet they treat it like its a daunting task.

is it really that hard to understand that some people just arent into smalltalk? thats not being anti-social or introverted, its actually a p loving normal thing.

what the hell is with you whining about trivial things

Random conversations are fine but were talking about being asked about a haircut. Is it that hard to say a word or two about it?
