Author Topic: WTF is up with my internet  (Read 1206 times)

So this is my internet speed :

Not that bad right? This was also taken whilst some-one was using netflix in my house.

So why is it that when I join something like CS:GO that my ping fluctuates from 30 to 150 constantly causing me to rubberband? It is really annoying. I've been assuming that it was just my family using the bandwith with netflix and such, but the speedtest was taken when they were using the bandwith and the speed is fairly good.

Anyone have ideas on what's going on?

Maybe you're far away from the server that hosts the servers you go to.
Sort of like the lag you get when playing an MMO on a EU server while you're in the US.

Yeah I know this much, but this is a recent occurance. Like there are servers on the community browser that used to be only be like 60ish ping now the ping is 200 to 400 ping fluctuating up and down ridiculously. It's weird.

just because you have good speeds does not mean they are consistent

having an unstable connection will cause issues when you play cs

it's the next speedtest bragging thread already

this isn't a speedtest thread

it's the next speedtest bragging thread already
yeah let's brag about how crappy our speeds are

let me just remind everyone that your internet speeds are terrible compared to whats out there

and these were from 2012

And remember that speedtest.net is limited to 1Gb/s up/down

Fun fact: The vast majority of US citizens don't even have broadband internet. ISPs are so money-hungry that they've reverted back to the early 2000s.
