Yes, Walmart certainly have caused widespread destruction, famine and disease.
In third world countries.
Also they do cause destruction to local communities. They buy whatever land they want, put their store there. Crime rates go up and they kill small businesses. Then they close down their store when it's not profitable enough.
No business not even Target is big enough to afford renting out a full sized abandoned walmart super center. So the walmart building will remain abandoned for long periods of time. The amount of land a single supercenter requires could easily fit like 4 businesses on it.
