Not right now, but if you wish really hard...
guess i'm not wishing hard enough
i used to have a psp actually, no account though. wasn't really all that interesting, but it kept me entertained

I bought a PS Vita Slim smart case today. It's very nice, I'd recommend getting it. In general. Even if you don't own a Playstation Vita slim.

Was the PSP even good back then? I had a gameboy instead during the time because I wasn't too interested in the games the PSP had.

Now I hear the PSP is on par with the 3DS in terms of graphics. So I don't understand why no one likes the Vita when it is a generation ahead of the 3DS.
The PSP was an okay system with its fair share of pretty good games, but it didn't have quite the library to match up to the DS in my opinion. It was amazing for modding and homebrew though, more so than the DS.
Now I wouldn't say the 3DS is on par with the PSP as it is somewhat more capable than it, but obviously isn't  up to the standards of the PSVita. The Vita has some great hardware, but it lacks any exclusives to make it a system seller to me personally. That and any other games are just multiplatform games I've already played or own.

I saw some fire emblem on 3DS commercial and the gameplay they showed on that game was bad. The graphics looked just as bad as PS1 graphics.

At least the Vita is about the same as a PS3 in terms of graphics. Why hasn't the vita caught on? I've had people come up to me and say that for a handheld device it has the best graphics they've seen.

because the 3ds has a more interesting library

because I sure as hell would rather make a videogame for the handheld console that holds 96% of the market, for the console that requires a lot less money to develop for, and is also cooler.

there is no promise to make a triple AAA looking title on a device as dead as my grandmother

I would like to see a Fire Emblem that actually looked good for a change with the exception of the GBA and Wii/Gamecube ones.

The library on 3DS is more interesting and has a larger fanbase.
And, homebrew, multiplayer, and a lot of other services.

Vita, to me, has ports of most the PS3 and PS4 games, and PSP games, which you'd be better off just buying a PSP and playing those games on.
That's it. Nothing new or interesting. And even if there is something new, most of the time, it's terrible or is some F2P bullstuff.

The only reason I even have the Vita is because someone else got it for me. I only use it to play Nuclear Throne and other games I really give a stuff about when I'm not at home. And even then I just play it on consoles.

And the thing's OLD. Like, really old. At least the 3DS had a remake (new 3DS), added things and is still being worked upon with brand new features.

Also, I played Fire Emblem Fates. It's fun as forget, and I don't know what you're getting the phrase "PS1 graphics" from.
Judging a book by it's cover much?

Anyways, that's all I'm saying about this.

Less derailing from you. More regular PlayStation talk.

Is there any reason to own a PS3 at the moment? All the games I seem to play are on PS4 right now, and I'm considering just keeping the thing in storage. No one wants a old slim PS3.

the vita is a perfect example of how superior hardware doesn't necessarily make a superior platform

it's just not strong enough in the market. there aren't enough games that people actually want to play on it. 3DS has plenty of great exclusive games in strong franchises.

The only reason I'd get a vita (although I have one already) is because one of my favorite games is gonna be released on it in the next month or so

on top of that, I need to get a JP PSN acc and then download the game digitally

The reason why the Vita failed was because of the stupid memory card bullstuff they pulled and the smartphone hit to dedicated portable gaming devices. That's it.

You shouldn't watch Extra Credits, they're really unreliable since they don't provide sources and mostly speak in weasel words. Most of James' "expertise" falls under basic induction/deduction skills that all semi-intelligent humans have seeing as his experience as a "professional game developer" amounts to 2 mobile games that have been removed from the app store, an unspecified call of duty game. An old Polygon article hints toward it being just a canceled spin off where he "worked on sound". There are also some rumors spread by DigiPen about him working for Zygna and some other companies, but those haven't been confirmed by the companies themselves in any way.

He allegedly has a consulting company now called "Divide By Zero Games", but the contact button on their website doesn't work, which is suspicious.

My ps3 name is Wariodude9

I have no Membership with PSN and I own PS2, PS3, PSP and PSVita (Used to own a ps1 but stuff happens)

i never even knew about this until i read the comments of that video lol

sounds insane. i'm sure that discouraged a lot of people from buying, but i never even looked at getting a vita because there aren't any games on it that i wanted. tho the 3ds was obv hit by smartphones too and still did well. but yeah, having to spend a ridiculous amount of money on proprietary memory cards is a really weird thing in this generation of platforms. even the PSP used an SD card type, and the technology could have only gotten better since then

Seriously, I liked the idea of memory cards, the 3DS did it with SD cards, and it's useful, you've got a few videos, pictures, games and whatever, but there's not enough memory, easily buy a new memory card.

also whoever voted PS4 instead of ps2 I will find you and kill you
