i think the confusing thing is that modern western feminism deals more so with de facto discrimination and detrimental gender norms than it does issues with de jure problems
it's pretty obvious if women are legally unable to do something like vote, but if it's something really subtle like people assuming you're better/worse at a job because you have a vagina, that's something a lot of people have trouble really understanding.
i'm not sure why people are talking about LGBTQ+ stuff but my policy of "who cares, just let people be happy" stands (also gender dysphoria is a legitimately accepted psychological condition)
