New Alien Computer Setup

So, recently I found out I have a spare Alien computer just lying around, so I decided I'll hook it up. Currently, I play with a Macintosh desktop computer, so this will be a pretty big upgrade. While putting all of this together, I had the idea of setting up the monitor hooked up to the Alien as a second monitor for my Mac desktop. But, a Mac runs on OSX, and an Alien runs on Windows. So, my question is can two computers that run on different OS's be connected as a second monitor? (Sorry if the writing doesn't make too much sense; it's 3AM right now where I live)

Monitors are standardized and what operating system you run on the computer will be inconsequential to the monitor. All that matters is that the computer you want to hook it up to (sounds like your mac) has a compatible video output for the monitor to use.
