Author Topic: A "elevator" type exploit.  (Read 2922 times)

Yeah. Look at this video. it explains it all.

The brick he was using to do this glitch was a JVS big fan.

Anyone know about this?

this has been around for a loooooooooong time.

OT:im just guessing its a glitch with the fan/vault door where the creater forgot to make it un-collideable when its ghoting

its well known and its because jvs is a bit stuff

yes everyone does

and if they didn't you just spoiled it for everyone to abuse thanks

in other words, if you find exploits, you're better off keeping them to yourself because they aren't going to get fixed and instead of having a cool secret you have a bunch of idiots glitching the game.

You're welcome.

no one even uses JVS any more

no one even uses JVS any more
What do they use then? JVS i still like.

This only happens when the host decides to enable Support_LegacyDoors. For some reason this mod writes collision to temp bricks.

Well actually there is that build bridge script. I'm sure someone could take that script and find a way to turn it into an elevator.

no this is caused because there was a base collision box on that mesh and there was no support for using a separate static shape model for the ghost brick, so the one with a collision mesh is used because jvs doors aren't actually bricks they are static shapes that act like bricks

Hm, are you sure? I recently looked at the Support_LegacyDoors and it seems to be the one to cause it, I remember I disabled this and told someone else to disable the mod and it seemed to fix the collision problem.

no. its because of the collision mesh on those static shapes its been like that since release

You can always make an elevator of a combination of velocity events and disappearing reappearing event bricks.

I can make an example out of events, It can't be that hard.

I just created an elevator, will be posting a video in gallery later.

Yea, it isn't that hard
