Really? Seems like McCarthyism is all the rage nowadays.

I'm not in favor of police brutality but I do think police should stringently enforce the "no masks at a protest" law on the federal books. Either take the mask off or go to the party van in handcuffs. This should make it easier to track down those that do commit crimes.

My language is colorful and I don't mean the police should literally cave some of their skulls in to send a message, but if these people are getting violent they should get the baton until they're subdued.

Antifa's existence is a violation of the social contract of a western democracy, plain and simple. Violence against political opposition is unacceptable regardless of what you believe. Antifa are a bunch of LARPing scum assaulting people in the streets advocating for communism and censorship. It's not hard to see why so many people dislike them.

That's why I'm more in favor of having the police crack some skulls when Antifa shows up and causes a ruckus instead of trying to dissolve them through law.

This is a position which is patently incompatible with being against punching national socialists. If you're okay with deploying an unconstitutional use of force against one group you disagree with, then there is no reason you can fault leftists for wanting to stop national socialists through violence.

It's actually a bit worse than that, since national socialists pose a longer-term threat to American democracy than a bunch of young serial-vandals pissed about Annoying Orange.
