Author Topic: Has the Pope Committed Acts of Heresy?  (Read 4065 times)

The real question is, in what universe is religion, even more so the pope still relevant today?
Insufficient perception does indeed make him seem less relevant.

im pretty sure the bible as we know it right now is extremely forgeted up compared to how it was way back then

thousands of years of translation, retranslation, interpretation, reinterpretation and sometimes revision must have screwed with it a lot. how can you trust it then?

Burnt.
Note that Jesus said when He had come back to His disciples after He had risen to spread the word and the good news—A call to spread the word to all without reservation.  The notion of hierarchical priesthood was a human invention.  The bible in numerous locations places Jesus as head of the Church, and also warns against divisions.  So in other words, humans dun forgeted it up again.
The Catholic Church can trace the papal linkage back to when it was originally given moral authority by Jesus through Saint Paul.

Paul constantly considered himself the least of the disciples.  Much like John the Baptist, he considered himself the least worthy of grace, however, the bible teaches us that the exalted will be made low and the humble will be exalted.  The difference is that God recognized Paul's (then Saul's) zeal and saw him to be a great servant in spreading the word and being a testimony to God's power.

The system that exists now is a man-determined process, whereas at that time, it was a God-determined process.
