Author Topic: what graphics settings should i use?  (Read 858 times)

sometimes when i play, if i look at a big build, or one that uses alot of bricks, it kinda lags, and it's a bummer. I've tried changing the graphics settings, but i don't know which ones do what, and i don't notice alot of changes except when i change the draw distance, but that makes me not see as far, and i want to see stuff better.

i tried following that tutorial to update my drivers, and i follow all the instructions right, but it couldn't install for some strange reason. i think my graphics drive is as updated as it can get, or is it not?

here's the states.

Name: Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller

Manufacturer: Intel Corporation

Chip Type: Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller

and im having to use an old Gateway EV500B because my other monitor which is a dell died last year.

is that enough info? what are the recommendations?

Nothing you can do about the graphics card, it sucks, also i think the computer is a bit old.

lower draw distance and lower screen/game resolution is first thing to lower to make any game playable.
if you still get no luck then nothing more really will help

well, in that case, if my graphics card gets too bad and everything lags too badly, then i guess i won't be in blockland for awhile. :panda:

lower everything all the way anyway, regardless of what your computer can handle.

just because you stop seeing video lag at one point of tweaking, dont mean your all clear.
its still pushing its limits, and with a computer that old its not needed.

get a better card that your computer can possibly handle, a radeon would be good i trust there cards but i dont know a specific card to get with it, on the other hand your comp. may not even handle an older model... gah get a new comp.

any vid card with 128m would be fine for your comp. any better and your computer shouldn't even be using it.

you wont need to pay more then 70

but i don't even have 50 dollars right now. and mom and dad aren't going to get me a new computer or graphics card. my mom just got a new computer, and it's graphics are great. but she doesn't want me downloading things on it and it's in the main bedroom. does my mom have some driver CD i can use?

A new driver isnt going to increase a cards capabilites, just make it use the capabilites better.
