okay so today i started up my computer just like normal. after about 10 minutes i noticed that i couldn't open any new windows. i thought a restart would fix it, so i shut down my computer and turned it back on. when i signed in a window popped up saying that Cortana and the start menu have stopped working and if i log back in it'd try and fix it (which, of course, it didn't)
this has happened once in the past and it just fixed itself. i'm running windows 10.
help pls
