Author Topic: betelguese is apparently a star  (Read 2912 times)

while i was in my science class a couple of weeks ago we were studying/learning about the H. R. diagram which is basically a star map of temperatures, luminosity, etc. i looked at the names of the stars and i found this as one of the star names:

betelgeuse

the star is a red supergiant (if i recall, or a giant) so it's not really too hot (but still hot because all stars are loving hot as hell) unlike the orange, yellow, white, or blue-white or blue stars but yeah.

i thought it was interesting and i wanted to share this with you guys
(i don't actually know if its just the assignment giving the name or if it's a legit actual star out there in space, lol)

Yes betelguese is the star of blockland.

no betelgeuse isnt a star its a race of giant cat people!!!1!!

Proving even stars can have autism

It's a legit star

It's also a legend

send his profile to NASA because he's a star

I was watching a video on how big our galaxy is and it was going from our planets to the sun, to stars bigger than our sun, etc..

I was just watching them scroll by and then I saw "Betelgeuse" and spit my water all over the monitor because I thought I was being trolled or something. Funny as forget.

don't be confused
red supergiants are still extremely hot, remember, they're powered by nuclear fusion which means the temperatures in the middle are upwards of 20 million degrees.

It's just the energy that they radiate that's cooler, around 3800C.
