I'm terrified of debt, especially starting out with 20 thousand dollars of it
thank you

Kind of like how we pay for you at the post office

Yo thanks for the check yesterday.
what are you doing today lol

come to UMass and workout with me

There are plenty of people who got to where they wanted to get to without a college degree.

50 years ago you didn't need a loving college degree to prove you were smart. Now college degrees are required to get into good jobs, it's all a big loving scam and a waste of time.

You think you need a college degree to become a videogame developer? Yeah, maybe if you want to work for Activision or EA or some stupid big shot company but if you self taught yourself you can make your own video game developing company.

People go to school for a videogame developing job but all those loving jobs are taken 9 times out of 10. Going independent is the way to go.

damn i didnt know that i'd be agreeing with lord tony any time soon

The only actual jobs that should require actual degrees are top level jobs like becoming a doctor.

It's kind of bullstuff how you need a degree for the most simple job now.

never has a truer statement been said

also true

Like I said I need a degree to be a Physical Therapist, PA, Occupational Therapist, or even a Strength and Conditioning Coach for top level athletes

I really wish I was on a computer so I could type a more coherent response but I think simple jobs that require degrees aren't always as simple as you think they are

That's solely and opinion though and I understand what you're getting at

College is great if you lack motivation, I lack motivation myself. However I am not paying $3,000+ for every 3 months just to get motivated.

That's why I dropped out.

I feel like it would do the opposite actually

My dad is a bridge architect, he didn't need a college degree to prove how good he was at his job. He started from the bottom then went all the way to vice president in his company he use to work for. The company eventually closed.

Now he was good at his job, real great at designing bridges. However since he never had a degree he is unable to find other bridge designing jobs. He had no tangible proof he can design a bridge other than his drawings and real bridges that were made by his design and that is worth nothing apparently unless you have a degree in being a bridge architect.

Like I said, it's bullstuff.

I'm curious, what is your current job and finacial situation right now and what are your future goals and ambitions?

college education is something that goes along with becoming a services economy. people need to be highly skilled to be successful. it's not really possible to make a stable living by working in factories any more. to be competitive you have to have the skills, and that means going to college. it's not as simple as people just wanting free stuff, people are loving terrified of taking out tens of thousands of dollars in student loans just so that they have assurance that they can get a job in the future.

and i gotta agree with lord tony here, the fact that it's so necessary is absurd, but that's the reality of the job market. someone that's highly qualified for a job is probably going to get it if the company is willing to pay for them, and because people know that, they go to college and get those qualifications. the problem only grows over time.

I cant even read, and i have this huge boat and all these bitches.
