Author Topic: Fakekill brick spread  (Read 2055 times)

I've been working on creating a catapult that "launches" a fake-killed brick.  However, the brick never goes in the same direction.  Sometimes it will go higher than it should, or to the right or left.  Is this just a by-product of fake-killing the thing? And is there anyway to get a consistent direction?

P.s. is there any way to tell when a fake-killed brick contacts another brick? (kind of relevant to this question but different project)

from my understanding fake-killed bricks are client-sided

so it won't go to the same direction and it can't really be detected

Show us the events you're putting on the brick and a picture of the build. This sounds like an odd problem to have - it should go in the same general direction every time you launch.

Build (two stages of catapult, top stage appears and the "rock" fakekills.


Keep in mind this is on Visolater's fortwars server.  I'll test my own server right now.

These were all fired by clicking the 5 high brick.  This launched the 2x2 brick at a value of 50 in the direction that I was facing (middle box in events).

Didn't see that.  However, I have had some very odd launches before.  Is that just a property of fakekilling? That they won't go exactly one direction every time?

sometimes the calculations just screw up. Its the most consistent when the brick is launched at an angle that will guaranteed not hit any other bricks during launch

Ok.  I ended up adding a couple bricks to try to keep the launched brick in a semblance of a straight line.  Thanks for everyone's help.

As far as I know fake-killed bricks are semi-random in their behavior.
