Annihilation is a team-based PvP gamemode with 4 teams, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green. Your team's objective is to destroy the other 3 team's Nexuses, while protecting your own. Each team has their own quarter of the map where they can gather resources, buy defenses etc. You can join a team in the pre-game lobby by using /jointeam (color).
Your team wins when it is the last one with a Nexus.

The game is split up into 5 phases, each phase lasting 10 minutes.

Phase 1: Nexus bricks are invincible
Phase 2: Nexus bricks lose their invincibility
Phase 3: The center of the map may be captured and joining mid-game is no longer allowed.
Phase 4: Nothing
Phase 5: Double Nexus damage

Phase 5 is the last phase until the game is over.

The Nexus is the most important thing in the game.
Each Nexus only starts with 75 HP, and when stood on it will lose 1 HP, or 2 In Phase 5 every second per person. When being captured it makes a very loud sound at the base, or a light sound if you aren't close enough, to alert the team their Nexus is being captured. HP does not regenerate.

Once a team's Nexus is destroyed, that team will no longer re-spawn. The remaining members of the team will remain in the game until they die, meaning they can still capture and destroy your Nexus.

In order to win, your team must be the last one with a Nexus.

Gathering resources is crucial to victory.

You can sell your ore in a shop, located around your base. You can also craft weapons with your ore for the team.

There are also trees.

Maps are built in a square and teams are in the 4 corners.

I feel that this would be best with TWO teams instead. That way it's more focused and not as much of a chaotic mess it's going to turn into.
About the middle, I feel that leaving it empty and just designing it as a viable "encounter" point would be the best course of action. No OP weapons, no respawns, just pure ol' battlefield.
Also classes would be great... if designed well, hahh. Maybe builders who get to build props using resources using that prop mod? Standard melee-based warriors with shields and a sidearm? Gunners? Medics?

This reminds me a lot of Fat Princess PSP game for some reason btw.

Thank you for the suggestions. Classes are fairly hard to balance so it would take a lot of testing to perfect them. If this is the prop mod you're talking about, them that seems like a really great idea.

classes are a great idea if done right

players often prefer to go right into the fray and try to take out other nexuses instead of protecting their own

so having one or two "defensive" classes will balance it out

One thing I forgot to mention in the OP is that there may be bot bosses to get HP back up on your team's Nexus or some other reward.

OK, while the rest of the votes are mixed at the moment, 100% of the vote in is favor of 2 teams. I'll begin to build the map with that in mind, and I'll possibly be changing the words in the OP soon.

Teams should be not at all restricted, let host decide

Middle could have a special attribute for all team members in a special mode that comes by random, otherwise nothing special

I just added event, item, and emitter support to prop mod - this should help you in making props that do certain things. Note that events do not rotate, though.


It'd be cool if you didn't use Red and Blue. Reason I think that is because it's a classic rivalry but it's gotten kind of stale from being used so much. But hey, that's just my opinion, let the public decide what they want for team colors.
