Author Topic: So i'm going to try to make a speedcart map, I have some questions...  (Read 826 times)

Ok. So title. Here are my questions:


Are there any requirements?
Such as anything to do with length, Width of track, or something like that.


Do I have to event the starting line/starting lights?
As in this:




Do I have to event the end with the golden brick, or just place a golden brick?
The little brick you have to step on at the end


 Any other things I need to know? (I'm going into this completely blind.

My Ideas are a forest raceway with a bunch of trees to doge.

I did that with my map (wich was stuff and never i released it)

just take it from another map there's no harm from doing it

-make sure your track is wide at the beginning an gradually gets narrower ( like 2/3 of the starting track)

-add a cool and entertaining winning event at the end (like in hydro plant it explodes)

-make sure you have shortcuts that are harder to navigate but aren't impossible

-add treasure chests even though barely anyone gets them all.

-keep in mind for hazards, theme, background scenery, and most importantly that the track doesn't gradually lower and overlap itself (like a bridge at the start of a track but you can just jump off the bridge to get to a further part of the track)

Will do for the cool ending, shortcuts, and other stuff. Can't do treasure chests. They crash my game. I'm thinking of first doing the main track and background detail, then obstacles, shortcuts and finally the end. I have all the starting gate stuff but I don't have the lights that let me start the race. How do I deal with that?

I did do that. But Couldn't copy over the lights. Can you help? I'm thinking I may be able to wing it and make them myself. I know I might be able to do it with fire relays, change print and then setcolor with a delay.

You shouldn't need relays for something like that. Just delays

Also you need to copy over the named bricks if you hadn't already

I've copied over the car spawns, the gate and everything but not the  lights.
