Author Topic: Why is Deadpool's budget so low?  (Read 778 times)

Like I'm reading a lot of stuff and Deadpool has a budget of like 50 million. Meanwhile the movie earned like 600 million in total.

Fox didn't believe this movie would do well or something? That 2003 hulk movie which was boring as forget had a budget of 137 million and only earned about 200 million in the box office. I don't know how fox thought deadpool was going to do worse than hulk.

That boring captain america movie had a budget of 140 million and only dragged in about 370 million at the box office. The budget is higher and earned less than deadpool.

I'm assuming the sequel will have a higher budget this time, would that be a good thing anyways? The Deadpool movie may have been a marvel super hero film but it sure didn't feel over saturated like a stuffty marvel super hero film which is a good thing.

look you don't know what I thought. stop making assumptions

And Colossus in this Deadpool looks a hell of a lot better than the Colossus represented in those Xmen movies.

If they can do all this crap with just a 50 million budget then why are these super hero movies needing 200 million for their budget if they all look like garbage? lol

Because Deadpool doesn't have a large roster of AAA actors in the same space. You know RDJ is one of the top paid actors in the world right?

i mean, remember the joke when he says "it's like the studio couldn't afford any other x-men"? That's where a ton of the money comes in. It's why Ant-Man sparred with Falcon instead of Captain America - they cost tons of money.

Deadpool was considered to be a bomb waiting to happen, and yet it killed at the box office. And if you think something is going to bomb, you're not gonna pump money into it. That's why people only make reboots now; it's guaranteed money

Well they clearly don't know stuff about predicting how much money you'd make from this crap. Dead Pool has one of the lowest budgets but one of the highest box office pay and since the budget was low to begin with they maximize profits.

If they paid 50 million for the budget and made 600 million that's a 550 million profit.

Iron man 2 had a 200 million budget and made 600 million in the box office. That's only a 400 million profit.

Not only that Deadpool looks more realistic than Iron Man. I could barely tell where the CGI stuff was. Even colossus looked more real than the iron man suit.

Also the rated R rating didn't stop it from doing bad at the box office.

Well if there is a Deadpool 2 I bet the budget would be 3x higher lol.

God's of Egypt has a 140 dollar budget, right now they have about 38 million from the box office.

wow you sure are betting on the dark horse here who would expect a successful movie getting a bigger budget sequel

Fox doesn't like supporting R rated movies though so I doubt the budget will get higher for the sequel.

is it required that you post a topic on every little thing that bothers you?
so they made a profit on a small budget. it's deadpool. did you expect anything else from a icon like that?

also, like people have said before, things cost money. like actors. and all the other previous statements made.

again -- do you need to make a post on everything that annoys you? half the time they get mass notoriety and anger/annoyance from others and you eventually lock it because of it, so why even try?

captain obvious. also, budget =/= quality.

you're sure about this.

it's the highest grossing R rated movie in history

it's gonna have a bigger budget

No, which is why I made this topic because I'm wondering why Fox wasn't expecting a big profit from an icon like that.

I wasn't "bothered" that Deadpool made a profit. I'm just wondering why he wasn't paid more.

it's cheaper to experiment than it is to gamble away money

Maybe it's because you don't have to stuff cash all over a movie to make it good?

I could see the budget in Ironman 2 being used for mostly love, drugs and jetskis. Maybe that's why they need the big bucks.
