Author Topic: Why do white dads call their sons 'buddy'  (Read 6374 times)

I was at the park and this guy he was talking to his son and literally all i hear him say is Buddy, buddy, every 10 seconds after saying something else . Is this like, a thing they just do?

my dad calls me champ

what if that's just the kid's name?

Lol a lot of parents do this.

yeah

parental bonds in white people are probably genetically inherited???

in my Asian household im referred to by name or 'son'

my name's bud, not buddy

Yeah it's a white culture thing
Just like black dads(if they haven't walked out) always call their children mistake

it might be a step dad or something
i've never heard of that kind of thing being widespread

they're filming a family film, don't interrupt the shot

the same reason my dad calls me spud

My dad doesn't talk to me :c

because it would be pretty weird if you saw an adult speaking to a young child as if they were another adult

my dads never called me a mistake lol

why would you give your kid a dog's name

um so you can't call your children by their name when speaking to them?  That sounds suspicious

hey maybe he treats him like a dog
