Author Topic: Steam announced this new handicapped Market hold thing  (Read 7429 times)

idk wtf OP's talking about but I'm pretty sure the issue before was that you had to have a smartphone to use it after they made the change, and not everyone has smartphones
although honestly the only people I can think of who don't have smart phones these days are little kids and people who feel superior by not having a smartphone (idk why?)
I can't afford the plan or the smartphone itself.

15 DAYS??? Now this is pure insane. How does this protect your items in any way? This is corruption from steam. They want to get people to have the mobile guard. But something is weird... Why dont they have it for windows phone? Im actually wondering if they want to sell Steam Phones.

I was wondering where my tinfoil hat was until i had the tought to go outside and stand for no reason until the cyan light comes.

First of all steam tells you that if you lose your mobile phone and you don't have the special pin they give you in case you lose your phone then you will no longer be able to access your account.
How about you like, keep the special PIN

I can't afford the plan or the smartphone itself.
you're 15 so you fit into that first type of person
How about you like, keep the special PIN
too much effort :/ :\ :/

How about you like, keep the special PIN

I don't like writing down security pins.

They also don't let me pick my own pin, only their auto generated pin so I'm never going to remember it.

Why would I write down the pin to inevitably lose it and have some kid steal my steam account?

how about you keep the PIN in your home
also are you that picky about your PIN number??

if you can't do at least something such as writing the special PIN on some notepad file on your computer
do you like
have a special robot doing everything for you

the special PIN on some notepad file on your computer

Lose your phone.

Computer blows up.

No more steam account. I don't see why an online account needs to be tied to a physical device.

although honestly the only people I can think of who don't have smart phones these days are little kids and people who feel superior by not having a smartphone (idk why?)
"wow lol the only people who don't have smart phones are little kids and stuff lol"
because I should totally have to pay more money on my phone bill every month to use loving STEAM

Say you have the steam guard stuff.

So you have the pin written down.

It's also on a notepad file on your computer and phone.

House catches on fire, note burns up and computer and phone are melted.

You not only lose everything in the fire but the one thing that is 100% unaffected from fires is tied to a phone of yours that was protected by a pin number which you no longer have. Goodbye steam account.

steam isn't the only benefit of smartphones dog

insurance

also why would you leave your phone at home? that defeats the whole purpose of the 'mobile' phone.

steam isn't the only benefit of smartphones dog
but I have no other reason to pay extra money for a smart phone
literally steam is the only function I'd find beneficial

I don't like writing down security pins.
then why not start
