smartphones are just miniature computers. nothing's stopping anyone from writing and attempting to spread a virus for iphones besides the appstore, which is moderated. even then, that doesn't totally stop outbreaks

People think "oh it's a phone it can't catch a virus" are wrong.

This is because phones weren't built in computers until not too long ago. All the available viruses were computer exclusive.

Virus programmers are catching up with the times and creating viruses for smartphones every day.
