There's this neat thing called Notepad, or Word, or whatever you may have. It's on your computer, too! Neatly convenient.
What I do is I type my recovery code INTO that program, and save the file! Hell, maybe even encrypt the file for now. Wow! I still have the recovery code! Sweet!
Lose my phone, forget the code! :o! I have a file that tells me it!

You not only lose everything in the fire but the one thing that is 100% unaffected from fires is tied to a phone of yours that was protected by a pin number which you no longer have. Goodbye steam account.

there's this thing called the cloud storage.

.rar the .txt and then encrypt password it with the pin you actually want then upload it to google drive, no way for the hacker to access the file because you'll never enter said pin through any sort of normal usage.
