Would it be considered cheating if i changed the textures of the ct and the t's head so they are easier to see?  I know this seems dumb but, is it cheating?

iirc yes, official valve servers don't like any sort of modifications to the game and may issue a VAC. although I'm sure its not generally considered "cheating"

try upping the digital vibrance of your monitor / graphics card if you want to see things more, apparently what the pros do. I don't personally change the digital vibrancy because it looks forgety when doing anything else

I thought the game kicks you out if files don't match, or at least something like that happened when I changed the name of my c4 back when that was the hip thing to do.

Changing core files will mark your game as "unpure" or something. You won't get a VAC or anything, but you will not be able to join sv_pure servers (Valve officials, some communities)

Ah thanks.  I wonder why my minimap is messed up but it still allows me to play.

Or, like in TF2, it will just rollback to the normal texture until you leave the server.

Can you please forget off? Why do you need to bring that up?
