Author Topic: why the heck cant we put plumes on the pirate hat  (Read 3495 times)

another thig i would like is for hands/hooks to be transparent, so we could do this:

you're not actually able to make players transparent iirc

uwot

You can make playertypes transparent. They just don't render with the world correctly. Transparent plumes do the same stuff, they don't render bricks or whatever when you look through them.

sky horse
it has come to haunt and reap

Well yea but that's not really transparent considering that you can only see entities through it

No, it's transparent.

When the playertype is surrounded by bricks it will only render the skybox, players and vehicles around it.

When the transparent playertype is not surrounded by bricks and only a skybox you will see the opaque shape instead.

I don't have a picture of what it looks like when not surrounded by bricks.

that's what I said, I just personally wouldn't consider it transparent if you can only see a few things through it

it is """transparent""" in the sense that the transparency of the horse right now is at 100%

...but it still doesn't ghost correctly so
it acts like a weird trans-dimensional portal to the skybox

The horse reminds me of when you look at a spawn brick through a window brick, you see the skybox.

the blocky one looks like a regular helmet or maybe a space helmet

the pointy ones both look like knight helmets to me

This is what I see them as.

So maybe it would be odd to have visors on those, but a knight-ish visor on the regular helmet would be cool.

You know that helmet we have that comes with a visor option, how come we don't have a medieval visor option? Then we could potentially have more medieval helmets from it.

No, I did this before. I unhid the visor node for that pointy helmet and I unhid the plume node.

It actually looks pretty badass. It only looks weird because the visor doesn't have any eyeholes.

I want to know why we can't put plumes on the pointy helmets. Medieval helmets had plumes.

Would be interesting if they were centered on top of the helmet.

Why not add a plume to everything then?

Open source is just going to lead to a stuff ton of piracy and exploits. I don't see this happening till Blockland is near death in about 30+ years from now.
..
stop trying to make another loving useless argument about if Blockland should be open sourced

ot: pirates deserve this right
yoho for plumes
