The problem is that online advertising is basically fraud from top to bottom and should be completely destroyed.  Programmable client side filtering (adblock) should be built in to every web browser by this point - problem is that chrome and firefox both rely on advertising for funding so browser development has stagnated.

firefox relies on advertising for funding? i dont see a lick of non self advertising on their website or their browser and they rely on donations to stay afloat not unlike wikipedia. i agree that advertising needs to be reworked hard.

Microsoft could build adblock into IE/edge and destroy google - like literally sink the entire company overnight.  But no, they're too busy trying to become google, like some self-conscious nerd to afraid to have their own identity.

microsoft is based in america. why is that relevant? because lawyer culture.
doing just that is an amazing way to violate anti trust laws and get sued by a bunch of lawyers in a class action lawsuit AND they get funding and support from google and yahoo and countless other companies like the verge just to name one to forget microsoft over. so no they can't sink google overnight without sinking themselves at least.

MS eats anti-trust laws for breakfast.  They've violated the conditions of their previous anti-trust case repeatedly with no consequences.  Now they've got OneDrive built into win10, and it can't even be uninstalled.  I guess all the other cloud drive services are screwed.  Do you make desktop publishing software?  Well too bad because MS is putting office 365 ads right on the desktop of every person on the planet via their OS monopoly.  Remember how valve fought long and hard to hone steam into a worthy product?  Well throw out all that effort because MS is here to catch up by advertising their own software store right onto everyone's lock screen.  Before you know it, they'll be straight up deleting programs from your pc with no warning.. oh wait they already did that.

If they're doing all that stuff, why not go all the way?  At least then we'd get to see some major carnage instead of just stuffting on the little guys.

Deleted programs from your PC without warning? When/why?

There was a win10 update in November that caused some software to BSOD.  Instead of fixing the problem or putting in an "oops this program doesn't work any more" message, they just deleted the programs with no prompt or warning.  In the case of some antivirus software they automatically replaced it with windows defender or whatever they call it now.

Speaking about Windows 10, can anyone back up what I've heard?:

Windows 10 was recently a forced update if you hadn't yet, and had to disable a setting to turn that off.
Windows 10 does not let you disable forced auto-update, so you HAVE to update it when it tells you to.

These are rumors I think so can anyone confirm?

Macs are even worse, they regularly have software updates that just make all of the old programs stop working - even first party apple products.  AND Apple as already shown that they will remove apps and data from your device whenever convenient for them.

Nah, I have 7. It repeatedly says that I should update to 10 but I tell it to forget off then it pops back up the next day
