I had mine removed under anesthesia. Made the operation itself very un-scary since you don't have to actually be conscious for any of it. Unfortunately for me it turns out I may be somewhat allergic to the anesthesia, I was throwing up anything I tried to eat or drink for the next 16 hours.

Also it'll hurt a lot for the first day. You get some strong pain killers, unfortunately I was allergic to those too and threw them up even after I could eat normally again.

anytime i needed work on my teeth that required pulling or anything serious like that, we just get a nice long needle inserted into our gums that will make the area numb.
