those weapons in no way fit the style of blockland. they are on the other hand amazing for its own standalone fps.

these weapons look great, but the models are proportioned as they would in real life, which doesn't fit blockland in any way

notice how stubby and low poly they are compared to the other ones.

I don't know how 'immersed' one can get when you're killing Lego block cartoon people with a realistic ass sniper rifle

What I mean to say is there's something called 'aesthetics' which is used to appeal to the senses, but when you merge two visually different objects into one scene it looks quite jarring. High Poly weapon packs are usually met with heavy criticism, and if you want an example you can look at Sgt Walter's BF3 pack. It was a great weapon pack with cool concepts, but the style of models didn't mix well with the Legos.

i've done this in the past and i have realized it's the reason blockland modelling is becoming so utter standardized.
everybody has their own modelling style, masterlegodude makes very detailed and not-so high poly models which i love (they're a very amazing ice breaker)
we need to stop trying to gauge blockland's modelers, let it be.

I would just like to point out that the rifle was high poly because that's how Luniz wanted it originally, but i will be re-making it to fit Blockland a bit more

I didn't even really perceive any messages that mentioned the models being unfitting or too detailed as offensive, so no harm no foul

i agree with khain - if they really dont fit in BL, well, no biggie. just don't use them on your server.

over time, the invisible hand of the free market quality detection will decide which addons stay used and popular and which don't.

No one ever listens to you guys in high poly debates, it just comes with experience. every one is going to call me a idiot for saying that but its true, i have seen it 1000 times including with myself. Now post if your looking to help because its getting fairly annoying when i click on this to see what hes done and its just another debate that you have had before...

Progress on a terminal brick has halted due to encountering weird errors with General's obj2blb converter, aside from that, i'm slowly re-working the anti-material rifle to be lower poly and blocko-ish
