How much have your previous injuries set you back in lifting?
Summer 2014 I had a shoulder injury that prevented me from doing anything strenuous for about 6 months and it wasn't until this past September that I consistently got back into lifting, and by then it was like I was starting new again.
My first back injury happened the summer between my sophomore and junior year. It kept me out of sports my entire junior year and I went to physical therapy for 10 months or so. But by about 6 months I was back to running although I still had to be careful. So it affected me for about 6 months total before I could get back to some physical activity.
Im hoping that this wont be too bad and anti-inflammatorys will help. I also plan on continuing lifting in a few weeks (depending on what the doc says) but just avoided anything that puts too much stress on my neck. Even if it means looking like an idiot with a neck brace I'll do it. Weight lifting is basically my life lmao Literally tho I spend about 3 hours a day in the gym so Im pretty bummed right now
Edit: Oh yeah, update. The x rays didn't show anything so the doctor at the Urgent Care thinks its a herniation. He's sending my x rays and his notes to my primary care doctor who I'll see on Monday morning. He said that most likely my primary care doctor will send me to get an MRI and then we'll go from those results.
