GTA V took a loving week to download, and I kept my pc on ALL THE TIME during that week

smh

i know i hate that
a common fix is to switch your region to singapore or some poor country because it dramatically speeds up downloads
if the dl speeds go down again restart steam

I just set my download server to vietnam
IT DID NOTHING

Lolwut

OT:I live in Germany and i have no problems at all

I'm generally curious, what is your download speed?

Steam should implement a seeder system. Would make downloads a million times faster.

This would create a potential security issue, however. Checksums can only verify that the size of the received item and the requested item are the same, so a crafty person could modify their distribution with packed viruses or other nasties. Even non-malicious cases of data corruption are something to worry about via seeding. You'd also have to watch out for leeches.

P2P can work fantastic, but it's not flawless. That's why I'm extremely sceptical of Microsoft's push towards P2P transfer of Windows updates.

how do u think us payday 2 players feel

Not really, for example if you get a corrupted chunk on a torrent it'll just download it again.

This is only meant to be used for local networks, isn't it? Like updating multiple computers in the same house, I think that was the default setting.

did you try a restart and list everything you've tried
yes
so far i've
restarted steam and computer
reinstalled cs:go
deleted clientregistry.blob
reinstalled directx from the cs:go files
deleted the installscript.vdf file
moved the files from the downloading folder to common folder. But for some reason the files kill themselves in the process
i've also spammed the play button
there's probably a few things i forgot about though

It's also worth mentioning the game runs fine from the downloading folder but it starts in insecure mode

allow any other updates that steam wants you to do

that's all i got
