Author Topic: The day I sent an email to my entire school district  (Read 1177 times)

Basically, I was browsing Reddit of hilarious stories. Then this generally "kind of funny" story from the 7th grade in which I experienced (IMO I thought was funny) came to my mind. so I just wanted to share it to you all.

In 7th grade, I was a pretty shy, but also a very smart guy. My behavior says otherwise. Never got into trouble or anything. It wasn't until when CPS eventually opened a GMAIL service, but for school purposes. Nevertheless, many just used it to chat with their friends at school. On April 1st, I wanted to send this big joke to everyone. I got on the computer and snagged a picture of sanic --> https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Epxz5RhAamw/maxresdefault.jpg
And hid the picture with the response, "So I just want to say one thing...(picture)...HII" and when people opened the email, BAM, sanic right there.

I sent it to my friends and they thought it was awesome. I then proceeded to send it to the entire school system: teachers, officers, departments, and staff.  It wasn't until specials later that day in which I was called down to the office to speak to the principle. She was female, late 20s. Went to her office and she was PISSED. She shut the door and I knew I was done for. I sat in the chair across the table and she proceeded to grab about 20 copies of papers with names. It wasn't just any names of people; it was names of EVERY single person I sent the email to (departments included). I couldn't tell if I was in CSI being interrogated, but I was legit terrified of my stupid antics that caused me this.

She then started to put the papers on the table, after she was finished, she sat down and looked me in the eye. She asked for why I did this and I started to sweat badly (I sweat and itch when I'm nervous). I murmured words and she must've gotten sick of it and gave me a sheet of paper to write it down on. I got lucky and I managed to pull the lies onto that paper and said it was an accident. She believed me fortunately and I got away with no consequences. Well, yeah, I did get punished. I couldn't access my email for a week. Yeah, I did feel guilty, but I was not going to get suspended over a lighthearted email joke. Once I went back to class, told my friends about it.

EDIT: BLF hates memes which is understandable.

Tl;dr: Not so smart, nice guy me wanted to make an April Fools joke, sent picture of sanic in email to entire CPS district, got in trouble, lied and dodged a suspension.

Since that was written in first person, you really should have put it in quote tags since you didn't write it.

Hmm, so I was browsing Reddit
Tl;dr: Intelligent, nice guy me
le tip xD

if i were the principal i would be pissed too
i don't want cancer spreading through the school e-mail

very hot indeed.
very hot indeed

is this the new, "the ass was fat"

That entire thing was painful to read and cringy af

i started to SWEAT and i was HOT AF and then.. I LIED... shocking.. I was browsing on reddit /r/atheism and i was SWEATING. LEGIT..  they were PISSED.. i got  SONIC.... meME....

how the forget is someone scared when they deal with a principal i mean come on
i'd be more annoyed than scared

Story is dumb as hell. The thing he sent district wide wasn't even controversial or scandalous. It was just a dumb picture not even worth the principal getting made over besides telling the person not to forget up in regards to reply all.

Apparently, BLF is not friendly when it comes to what people actually experienced and their reactions.

we just think the story is handicapped. some 7th grader sending out some sonic meme to his entire school is just stupid and makes the kid look like an attention whore / unfunny piece of stuff

One of my school friends did actually get suspended from high school for sending an e-mail with a picture of a tomato to the principal.

It was merely a joke and I understand if you find it unfunny. Keep in mind, a 7th grader is BOUND to do stupid actions. No need to get offensive, I didn't harm anyone nor was anyone rather upset.

so you're implying here:

"Hmm, so I was browsing Reddit of funny school stories and then this really funny story from the 7th grade and I just wanted to share it to you all. "
that it was a story from reddit
and now you're saying "I didn't harm anyone nor was anyone upset"
