Author Topic: Items glowing and alpha issues after pickup fade-in  (Read 543 times)

This is a really odd issue I ran into. Certain items glow after being picked up, but only if I'm not running shaders.

It's the exact opposite with translucent items, however. After picking the item up when the item fades back on the brick, the transparency is an odd form of solidity. Reapplying the item to the brick fixes it until you pick it up again. The translucency doesn't work at all if I'm running shaders.

I can only assume I somehow exported the model wrong, but I have made other items before and never had this issue. Anyone else run into this problem or know a fix?

So it appears I have solved my own issue. For anyone else who might have this problem, the solution I used:

FOR SOLID ITEMS THAT GLOW AFTER FADE-IN - ONLY HAPPENS WITH NO SHADERS
Make sure your solid item isn't using a transparent material (.png) file, and disable colorshift

FOR TRANSPARENT ITEMS THAT APPEAR SOLID IN SHADERS OR AFTER PICKUP
Set your transparent materials (.png) to a solid color, then use colorshifting on the item and image datablocks
