While it's true you can get a VPS for cheaper at other providers, with NFO, you can be sure you're getting your moneys worth. One of the most high quality providers around.
NFO's VPSes are literally handicapped expensive
domain names aren't expensive. having a decent registrar is worth like the $5 difference you'd otherwise save by going with like CheapDomainNames.com or something
Why though? It's not like your registrar is going to have downtime or something if you go with namecheap vs google domains. They're literally all equal quality.
shared hosting is generally trash, but if you don't think you could handle setting up a VPS, it's a lot simpler
I have a mochahost shared hosting plan in addition to my VPS. it's... not great, but it isn't bad either. I paid about $85 for three years of service (which is why I still have the plan), which is a pretty good price. I pay $20 monthly for my VPS, but it's with nfoservers, and you can get cheaper VPS plans from other companies
I guarantee he doesn't need a VPS.
If you're going for budget, go with 000webhost. It's free, has PHP and MySQL, and is decent. It's nothing amazing, and you won't be able to host
the next big thing off of it, but it's
free and I've found it is relatively reliable.
