Author Topic: Best Pokemon game to start with?  (Read 3181 times)

I'd actually recommend yellow
I didn't see too many issues with it, but having Pikachu follow me everywhere is awesome
and it's a pretty good starting place without too much of the weird stuff added in (the beauty shows and what not), but has emphasis on the main storyline and progression from there on

imo you can start with any game but try to avoid gen 1. it had so many problems that people seem to accept for no other reason than nostalgia. i think someone on tumblr made a giant list of those problems once

Not sure

My first was heartgold in 2012

But I remember one of the D&P themes on tv in 2010

At that time the only Pokémon I knew were Pikachu and Piplup

HG/SS and then Platinum, make sure you have an action replay or something for both because they both have events that you can't access anymore

i still have a functioning "atomic purple" gb color from back then

my first was Platinum and I think I got it in the Friday after its release
Had a special edition D/P DS Lite but the battery bursted and I had to get a red DS Lite :(

I started with Fire red and played it half way then got Diamond. Both were pretty good, but diamond was my favorite because of Diagla. You could always start with Omega red or alpha sapphire and play it until sun and moon come out.

My first game was Red, Blue, and Yellow. I played all three with my brother owning Red and me owning Blue and Yellow, but I always played Yellow more as a kid because it's cooler B).
I still have my original cartridge and I guess it's about time I do my routine checkup to see if my save still exists...

wait the forget how is even still here even after like 16 years
