my cat got put down

she was 17 human years old (we've had her since she was a kitten) and had arthritis among other things
although she wasn't very sociable with humans, she would still sit on my lap all the time and purr, she mostly stayed outside and chased mice.

My condolences man. I've had like 12 cats in my life so far who have lived various lengths. I don't have any pets since I last moved and I'm looking to adopt a slightly older cat sometime in the near future.
