Author Topic: Do i have to go to prom?  (Read 3853 times)

/title
People are talking about going to prom and how fun it is going to be and i am just sitting here wondering if i should spend $125 on 4 hours.
I am a person that likes to live single, i don't have a girlfriend and never have, i don't really have an interest in getting one either.  Honestly, i don't want to go but both my parents went and i don't want to disappoint them.  I also have a huge fear of driving, since i almost got into an accident twice and the place where prom is is like 30 minutes away and end at 12 am.

I need some advice

If you have no girlfriend or no friends to hang out with at said prom, then don't go, since you'll just be miserable watching everyone else have fun for 4 hours while you waste your money.

If you've got a group of friends going, then by all means, go and tear stuff up.

You don't gotta do stuff, man.

forget the police.

forget ya' parents.

Stay at home and loving jerk-off, they can't tell you what to do.

I've never gone to a school dance or any of that stuff, and I'm currently a senior with prom right around the corner, but forget that stuff im not going. Not seeing people from school is a good enough festivity in itself. Honestly to me it's a waste of money and time

The thing is, my friends have girlfriends.

then be prepared to third wheel harder than ever before

i went to every dance but prom, despite being invited to go by two different groups my senior year. costed more than i'd have liked, i had no date, and I anticipated it would be the most boring dance I'd ever go to. so, me and another friend used our would-be prom cash to build new skateboards and spent prom night breaking them in lol

i don't regret not going as i'm sure i've made better memories with that board than I could've made going to prom, and considering this

i'm sure you could think of something better to do as well

buy a hooker and bring her to prom dressed as a dog

Only girls care about prom because they want to show off their dresses

You dance for an hour and then you go to an after party

Only girls care for prom but the highlight is the after party

my friend wanted me to go because he knew he would be bored or awkward there. (he doesn't go to the school, his gf does) i said no cause I didn't want to go if I didn't have a date and all the girls I talk to already graduated and have no interest in prom. and tbh neither do i

Unless you want to be a loser, yes. Also 125$ isn't that much if it's going to be fun. I've spent more than that on way less significant parties.

Am I wrong?

Am I wrong?
Yes. I'm a male and I like prom dances, therefore your statement about "only girls liking x" is wrong.
