As for off the internet, it could just be the area you live in. Like, I don't even live in the US.  As for on the internet, I go here, on tumblr, and then talk to people in games. Even on tumblr I honestly don't don't see the kind of 'perpetually offended' people keep bringing up. I guess I'm just not following them.

I'm not about to accuse you of intentionally walking on eggshells barefoot.

Honestly I've run into more of the "forget you for offending me" people on reddit than I do tumblr. Tumblr isn't even that bad unless you're purposely trying to find the bad stuff (cough cough tumblrinaction)

Plus the second part may be true, in my area a pizza place said they didn't wanna cater to a gay wedding so riots broke out and somebody shot at the pizza place

i don't think it's that people get more offended nowadays, but rather that almost everyone in the world has access to the internet and can say they're offended without the social repercussions that would happen if you did so in person.

I'm pretty insensitive to other people's problems, I'm not going to lie. I've offended people, and occasionally I go out of my way to ruffle people's feathers because it's funny to see how worked up they get about things that they know full well I don't mean.

That being said, I never get offended. I don't even understand how people get offended about things. If somebody makes a comment that's rude or insensitive, your first thought should be to let it slide off your back. Why does anything short of violence illicit a reaction?

I once said that vaccinations should not be mandatory and I lost hundreds of rep. Those people don't just have absolutely brutal SJW ideals, but they have the ability to reward "proper" speech and punish others' opinions via their fake internet points system.

Needless to say I don't use imgur anymore.

I'm pretty sure that if you said something tame like "my opinion is that vaccines should be mandatory" nobody would flip out, but there's always the possibility that you said something along the lines of "vaccines dont cause autism you guys are stupid they should be legal" and in that case hostility is justified.
