Here's my current station.

Then I'm looking to improve it, so I did a 3D model of what I currently have (seen above)
And of what I'm thinking of modifying it to.

I think I could do this for around $320, minus Justin Maller prints above the monitors.

VESA mount -$43
Monitor -$180
Shelves -$35
And then a little extra for a set of speakers.

I'd probably get everything except for the monitor for my birthday, and buy the monitor myself.

So yeah, opinions? Also, feel free to discuss and post your own stations.

Is that a monitor above another monitor in your 3D model? Interesting! How would having a monitor above a monitor be like, and what are the advantages and disadvantages of having something like that? I can't quite imagine how it'd be myself. I personally prefer the side by side kind of deal which you have right now and haven't really tried anything besides that. Furthermore what occupies the space past the shelf thing you intend to build?

I'd use a monitor mount like this. My current 16:9 is compatible with that,  so I'd hook it on there and clamp it to the desk. As for the advantages of it, I want something that I can use as a secondary monitor during gaming, and it's just another possibile position. I have limited space side-to-side, so putting two decent sized monitors next to each other isnt exactly plausible.

Lastly, there's a window seat right there. The fact that that would be empty behind it is my least favorite part of the concept.

it's a little messy right now but it looks really identical to this picture I posted a while ago

woops mesed up

I still think that Spungbab SP is quite adorable. It really sticks out within your really blue room.

I mean I can't really gauge size, functionality and such but what if you put your tower desktop hoo haa underneath the bigger table and just put the shelf on top of the window seat? Or would that be too hot, ugly or somethin'? Nonetheless I'd like to see how your project goes, best of luck to your set up.

thing is I have that nice big fancy case with a window that I want to be able to see from my seat. That's almost the entire reason for the shelf in the first place.

im gonna get some monitor arms soon i think those would be really neat. humanscale has a cool heavy duty dual monitor arm, but these are like 400 dollars

apparently this one is only 100 and it seems to have some pretty bomb flexibility

Those look pretty nice. I won't need to adjust my screen frequently so I don't need anything quite so fancy...

thats pretty cool lol

Having it in this position turned out better than I expected. I might do that instead.
