The thing about the ending was that, although being foreshadowed, was not in place. Throughout the movie, the viewers are consumed by all of the suspense and conflict completely unrelated to the aliens. That so, the viewers want the bunker situation, and the murder situation, resolve as opposed to see the girl kill aliens or whatever. For the people that watch the movie, with no foresight, don't know stuff about the aliens until the end. Also, the director of the movie says that it is a sequel, so there is no question about that. I also remember that when she first woke up in the bunker, the guy said she was asleep for.. I think 3 days or something? I'm not sure, but that would explain why there was nothing on the radio or anything(Because the aliens already dominated most of the world). So, when the viewers finally do see the aliens in the end, it is basically completely unrelated, and unexpected in a bad way. It is basically a conflict in a conclusion. She finally got out of the bunker, but when she does, she almost dies from the aliens, but miraculously kills the.. mother ship I think? It just didn't make sense.
Conclusion: The movie was great, until the last 10 minutes. Imo, it would have been better if the movie ended when she took the mask off and figured out that she could breath, because that was the conflict that kept her in there for so long.
