Author Topic: I've been seeing lots of people on the internet with pigs in their apartments  (Read 830 times)

Keeping them as pets, pigs are cute and charming but they realize that a pig goes from weighting 1kg to 300kg in matter of 4 years, right? What are you going to do with that in your apartment or in your house? They like to lift up the grass and play in the mud and if you own a pool, god help you.

I'm starting to think people are getting exotic pets without being fully prepared for them. I posted once a comparison between one of my young pigs and a 6L bucket. What do you expect to do with a 2m long, 400kg weighting pig?

you can buy pigs that don't grow very large

What would you do with a pic?

You can buy micro pigs that weigh under 68kg full grown. They're commonly bred for scientific and medical research.

They're very socially complex animals, so they can be great companions.

teach it to walk upright, become literate, and use weapons

teacup pigs for the win

a pig won't play in the mud if there is no mud to play in

i have a friend with two pigs, Gordy and Bacon, and they are actually cleaner and smarter than most dogs.

I once saw a guy walk a pig on a leash on a street in the countryside. He even had the pig do basic tricks like sit and lay down on command for me. It was quite impressive.

They're apparently quite clean too.

also keep in mind most pet pigs are pot-bellied-pigs, which at the heaviest are like 250 lbs, but have an average weight of about 150.
