Author Topic: steam is being a little stuffbag  (Read 1215 times)

So starting about three days ago, I decided to reinstall Garry's Mod. To do this, I moved steam onto a flashdrive, let it reinstall, then installed Garry's Mod. The moment Gmod finished, steam turned itself off. I turned it back on, and logged in with no problem, but Steam was being oddly slow. Every five seconds it would freeze up, and then take a minute to stop lagging. I reinstalled Steam again, and had no problem. Gmod ran fine (except for online, couldnt do anything new without lagging for a minute). I turned it off, turned my PC off, went to bed.
Next day I go back on steam, it takes a minute to login, then says "Can not connect to the Steam Network."

I log out of that account, and log into my New account (Which I've been using ever since the other one got hijacked, and flagged for fraud.) It logs in with no problem, and doesn't lag either.

Next day I try again to login to the other account, and it does, but it was lagging like hell again.
I give up and log into my new account, no lag.
Log back into the other account,

"Can not connect to the Steam Network."

I've spent an hour researching fixes but no one has had the same problem, I'm at a loss here because the only other solution is to use steam support so they can transfer my game over, which I tried before but they never replied back.
If anyone here could help I would really appreciate it.

Have you checked your router for problems? Did you check if Steam was down? Is your account being used? I kinda had a similar problem with steam lagging and I simply closed it via Task Manager (Windows user).

Have you checked your router for problems? No, not yet. I will soon.
Did you check if Steam was down? It wasn't.
Is your account being used? No.

post on the steam support forums and see if the community can help

Restart your computer too if the problem persists

why the forget would you put steam on a flash drive.
that's likely your problem.

if you still have steam on a flash drive, the reason it's so slow is cause you have it on a loving flash drive

yeah putting games on a flash drive is okay but playing on the flashdrive is a bad idea

why do you have steam and games on a flash drive? they're not meant for that
