Author Topic: Tributary II «7» — Day 3, Morning — Bah, no one seems to care.  (Read 11882 times)

Andrzej takes the spears, gets up and stretches. He had hunted smaller animals before, but never anything that could pose a real threat. Of course, having 4 brothers he had learned to fight people, but animals were another thing entirely. "Ready." he said, and kept one spear at the ready.

"Alright, first thing's first, there are makon out there.  They hunt in packs and can kill you easily, howeve, I was awoken once while sleeping while one curiously sniffed at my face.  Even though I awoke with a start, they did not do any harm.  Despite this initial reaction, they remained cautious, but calm.  I have no doubts that they would attack if hungry or provoked.  In any case, climbing up a tree is probably the best solution if they get aggressive.  If they move near with more of an intent of curiosity, let them approach you but stay still."

"Next is the nangol.  You might have heard it screaming in the nights.  They are solitary hunters who will take any opportunity.  Should they approach you, talk to it in a calm, but confident tone and try to look as large as you can.  Since there are two of us, this will help our image if we stick together.  By all means, stay away from it if it is eating or if you find a food cache.  If you find its young, get out of there.  Never corner one.  If it does attack you, fight back with anything.  These spears and axes should do the trick.  Let's hope, however, that we don't have to run into them."

"In any case, let's pray for the best.  The moon is out, but it will do us good to stay in areas where we can see each other and the area around us."

"Now then, with that, let's go." Kamila says, heading NNW

"Okay, I think I can do that." Andrzej said and tightened his grip on the spear as he followed into the forest. The quiet was unnerving, like the entire island was just waiting for them to make one little fatal mistake.

e: that is to say, i'm too inactive.

After travelling for about 2 miles, they see a group of 4 Bolgil sleeping in a clearing.  It's certainly too much to take in one trip.  Two of them are so large, it would take both Andrzej and Kamila to drag them back.  The other one is an adolescent and the last one is a piglet.  It would be way too much meat for two to eat.

Kamila motions to Andrzej, asking if he wants to take them.

Adok is now an NPC.

Tac, you can start at the headwaters of the northern river.

Kamila engages the bolgil, smashing the boar over the head with the axe, caving its face in.  Next, she readies her spear and jams it deep into the alarmed sow's snout, causing it to be more than alarmed and bleeding profusely.  As the other two young bolgil figure out what is going on, they attempt to dash out into the woods.  While giving chase, she realizes an opportunity.  "Andrzej, help me wrestle these ones down!"  Kamila lunges upon the smaller one and wrangles it relatively quickly.
