Author Topic: $700-$800 Gaming Computer?  (Read 2036 times)

I just recently won around a thousand dollars, and now I'm deciding I want to buy a good computer. Does anyone know of a PREBUILT "gaming" computer that I could buy for around $700-$800?

I ask for prebuilt because I'm completely computer illiterate and would never be able to build a computer myself.

As powerful as it gets I guess. I'd prefer if I could run most games with graphics maxed out and 60fps min. If this isn't possible that's fine.

Things that are required in the PC:
Ability to connect to wireless networks.
Ability to run games with medium-high graphics with 60+ fps.
Windows 7

Things I'd like:
Decent size hard drive.
Strong enough to multitask well.
Keyboard included, not required, I might have one.
Quiet.

I know some of you guys really love doing these so I hope you can do this for me, thanks!

Also; no I'm not being lazy, I've tried learning how computers work and I still don't know what a CPU does vs a processor.

putting together a computer is putting together legos, theres no reason for this "computer illiterate"

thanks for your input.

not really

Though maybe you can build it together with a friend that knows what he's doing? You could get a much more powerful one for the same money.

not really

yes really lol, you buy parts that work together, they all snap together and you screw them in, and you load the operating system and run the CD that comes with the parts

coming from a dude who couldn't figure out how your own headset works and felt the need to bitch at everyone trying to help you.

Well first of all, CPU is the processor. Thus Central Processing Unit.

Also secondly, $800 can fetch you a good PC build. I'm sure someone on here could help you with that or even a friend you know irl if you know any. I would try to help as i've built a few gaming PC's before but as far as things go i'm pretty sure there's a few users here who are far more qualified than me. (I miss Ethan :((()

none of my friends play computer games unfortunately. They all play xbox or ps4.

Thanks though!

espio from what posts of yours i recall in the computer megathread you're not at all in a position to be acting all high and mighty

i've built 2 computers from scratch and have torn apart and/or fixed several others-- don't listen to this guy. it is a time consuming process and as a first-timer who can't differentiate between components nor has the time or desire to learn it can be very easy to mess up

try this out. a little over budget but the specs are great; not sure what it all comes with bc i was just looking at the specs and price lol. usually sites like this that let you customize the pc before shipping are the best places to find good pre-builts

chill the forget out, jesus, so hostile

i've built 4 computers from scratch, serviced two, and bought one pre-built and upgraded it about 5 times lol

its not time consuming if you follow a good tutorial like newegg's tutorial, and pick the right parts

This one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883230034 - Has a better GPU + 128 SSD, but not as good CPU
This one - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883102076 - slightly cheaper, slightly weaker GPU, better CPU, but no SSD
