I feel like superhero movies aren't even overrated anymore. There's a lot of people who like them, yeah, but there's a growing mass of people who say things like this now too.
Everyone likes to get hype over upcoming superhero movies, but nobody really seems to like them that much.
...although I personally really like most of marvel's
Not thor though, those were poop
They're not critically overrated, as they are pretty heavily criticised by both professional critics and regular movie goers alike, mostly because of the oversaturation of the genre.
Obviously it gets harder for each one to outdo the last in a 2 hour film, hence we now get the likes of Infinity War in 2 parts.
But with the amount of advertising thrown at each film, all the teasers and build up in previous films, and general anticipation amongst fans, it's hard for the films to match expectations.
So, they're probably overrated at release, but post-release the general consensus on most of them is that they're a bit underwhelming now.
Any of the Avenger movies.
Do you mean 'Avengers Assemble' and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', or all the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies (Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, etc...)?
