Yeeeaaah, I'm definitely not the first person to say that AMC really dropped the ball here :|

I'm just going to give my thoughts on the episode in one big spoiler-filled (like the "spoilers" would even matter anyway) transparent rant. You've been warned if you highlight before watching:

[SPOILER RANT]
Let's start off with the positives. The Saviors are so much more scarier than The Wolves ever were (as proven by that really chilling whistling). There was a terrifying build-up throughout that whole final scene. Steven Ogg is of course, amazing. JDM's performance was great too. A good introduction to Negan.

Then everything just completely falls downhill right at the very end of the episode. Okay AMC, we get it, this isn't the first time you've trolled your audience (see Glenn's faked death in Episode 3). But holy forget, this is taking it way too far. So, we get to the part where Negan is trying to pick which character he wants to kill off in Rick's group. The scene gets painfully drawn out, but JDM leaves some darkly humored commentary. Then he picks said person. But here's where the major problems begin to arise:

1. We never even loving see who Negan kills. We just see a POV perspective of who ever got his head mushed to bits.

2. And as soon as Negan finally kills the character and the screen cuts to black...BAM! The episode just ends right there and then. Completely out of nowhere. There isn't even a post-credits scene AFAIK.

So AMC. Why on Earth did you waste so much time to get to this part that everyone had been waiting for? What made you think it was a good idea that you should cut the finale off just like that with such a stuffty cliffhanger? Don't get me wrong, I liked Negan and whatnot. That Goldeneye 64-esque blood effect was cheesy, but it was bearable. The Saviors are great villains. The tension built in the final sequence was incredible. But all because of that awful cliffhanger at the end where we have no clue who died, only for the episode to just end abruptly, just makes it seem like the writers of the show were just like "Cya next October guys!! :D"

Just wow. I've never seen a show built up so much suspense and peril in such a short amount of time, just for it to just completely crumble and end on a low note. Did you guys purposely want to piss off, or hell, even chase away your entire audience? Like, how can you forget up something this badly?

Well, I'm going to try and continue on with Season 7 and see who actually dies. But I (and many other people) am so disappointed right now. Shame on you Scott.
[END OF SPOILER RANT]

This better be a late April Fools joke.

heh trevor and john winchester

cut to season 7 episode 1 and it turns out negan killed the camera man lmao

Are we going by comic rules? Because I already know how that ends.
scott has gone away from the comics a lot to make it more interesting, like with the whole character of beth, or making Andrea die in season 3

I mean the point of the cliffhanger was to be as suspenseful as possible
Although the first person blood thing is already getting old, only after two episodes of it

the cliffhanger ruined any chance for suspense, shock factor, etc.

did he really just say to cut out carl's eye and feed it to rick if they broke the line again? LMAO
in that case it's safe to say negan didn't kill carl, otherwise the threat is pointless

the whole 'last day on earth' theme and the frequent POV flashes to michonne, daryl, and glenn from insde their boxes makes me think it's definitely one of them that got killed

although, Eugene did get that death flag scene with Rick when he volunteered to drive the RV, a sort of send-off for his character
could just be a purposefully misleading scene though, since nobody would really care if Eugene died.

holy stuff dude i like eugene, his hair is loving great

The only way they could redeem themselves for executing such an iconic moment so poorly is by making it Rick that he killed.

I was thinking this, especially since on talking dead they were saying that when this character dies that story ends and a whole new one starts, so I'm thinking what if they did kill rick, that would completely change things but its just a theory I don't think they would because it would be a very drastic change probably causing a lot of there fans to stop watching.

With this I guess it would also be safe to say rick wouldn't die either but idk its still a possiblity since no one is safe tbh

they wouldn't kill carl
they just wouldn't

since nobody would really care if Eugene died.

hey shut up. Eugene is hilarious and clever. I would be very sad if he died.

I thought they had, in that one episode

I agree. Rick and Carl definitely won't die.

Compared to other characters, I'd rather Eugene, Abraham, or Sasha die than say, the one who does in the comics.
I got a feeling they're going to kill a fan favorite though.

Also anyone have trouble maintaining a suspension of disbelief when Negan's group just happened to be in that part of woods after the RV drove miles from the last roadblock? That was brutal, Rick's group never caught a break.
