There is zero backstory, the episodes are basically Teen Titans Go format. Now you would think "hey it's the PPG it doesn't need a backstory because it has one with the old show" that's where you are wrong because it's a reboot of PPG.

It's a whole new story.

If you didn't watch the old PPG which the majority audience hasn't you will not know who the forget Mojo, HIM, princess, etc are. They are just shoehorning these characters with no explanation for the new audience lol.
